Whre's the nicest romantic place you've been to eat that had good food and wasn't a rip off.

the summit is lovely, I took my partner there once for our anniversary. They give you a rose with your bill, and mints too.

but really pricey.

The most romantic though must be Garuvas in the Valley.

It is quite reasonable - meals all $15 and delicious!

All of the tables have curtains around them so it is completely private - and great drinks too.

This is definitely the most romantic i have seen in Brisbane

Depends on what you mean by rip off. Are you looking for a restaurant that has sensational views and delicious food? Or are you looking for cheap eats with a relaxed feel? For views and delicious food, I would recommend the River Canteen at South Bank. It's right on the river, the food is to die for (try the Moreton Bay Bug Cannelloni or Eye Fillet) and its magic at night and free carparking if you park at Tribune St. If option 2 is more your style, I would recommend you grab a picnic basket with a blanket, some glasses, grab a bottle of wine (the screw top/stelvin is so easy these days) from New Farm Grape and order some take out from Arriva Restaurant - try the blue cheese gorgonzola gnocchi and lasagna and head down towards the picnic tables at New Farm Park at dusk. Its very romantic. Make sure you pack some Aeroguard for mosquito's just in case.

It's a little Italian restaurant near Carindale with fantastic food, excellent hosts and a cosy atmosphere. It's called Elios - there are a couple of francises - but make sure you get this particular one. We used to eat there quite often - my fiancee was the head chef there before we moved away!

I'd say Le Classic at Coorparoo also. Very authentic French cuisine and they have strolling group ( Violin, double bass and sit down guy on keyboards). Also ,they are now in the Entertainment Book so you can get a discount. Reasonable prices.

The restaurant at the top of Mount Cootha. I think it is called the Summit. It is gorgeous to look out over the city and the mood is seductive if you can ease into it.

yeah i'd also have to say garuva's in the valley. there is no signage out the front, so you have to look for it. it's just down from the wickham hotel and it's literally a wooden door with no visible sign. very dark and private inside.
