Nah I all ways took my kids camping and all ways brought them home again. I even had a dingo once. Really timid dog, hard to do anything with it, wouldn't take the kids either

Do dogs bite and kill babies? most of the time no, but there has always been exceptions.

same applies here, it hard to generalise.
